Ignius at the 2016 UK-India Trade Mission

Ignius were among 11 entrepreneurs joining the UK-India Trade Mission in November 2016.  The two week event brought together innovative UK technology companies with representatives of the world of Indian business and government.

It was kicked off with a keynote from the UK Prime Minister, Rt Hon Theresa May, and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who spoke of ways in which young innovative technology companies would be at the heart of the flow of trade between the two nations

The initial event, which was held in New Delhi, featured an exposition of UK and Indian talent, including a 'pod' hosted by representatives from Ignius.  After two days, the Mission then proceeded to other key Indian cities, including one delegation to Bangalore and Calcutta, and another to Pune and Cochin.  We joined the latter delegation, along with International Development Minister, Liam Fox, which focussed upon the exciting and ambitious development of a network of 'smart cities' within India.

The trade mission overall was a productive experience, which has helped forge stronger relationships with the Indian authorities, especially in law enforcement, and open new opportunities for developing the business.
