Depending on the scale of the move an IT. Move Manager may be
assigned to work closely with facilities and IT. departments to produce a
schedule and relocation plan to ensure minimum downtime of critical services.
The Move Manager is responsible for liaising with the customer and members of
the IT. relocation team.
A dedicated relocation coordinator will:
Survey and evaluate a new site;
Handle all de-installation and re-installation activities, such
as verification of equipment operations prior to de-installation;
Disconnect all cables, busses and cabinets;
Supervise all equipment packing and unpacking;
Perform diagnostic system verification: and also takes care of
all logistical requirements such as the selection and qualification of moving
contractors, overseeing of packing and transports, arrangement of temporary
storage, if needed, and insurance administration.
